ALDL plug mold, where to get?

I build my own cable for some stuff but I'm getting really annoyed at having to use wire splice crimps to hook the laptop up to other peoples cars. Where does one get the plug from? Does anybody have any broken scanner tools? If so, e-mail me and I'll buy it from you if the price is reasonable.
What did everybody else do that built their own cables?

I couldn't follow the old link... anyone know which thread this was? I, too, would like to track down a cheap connector. Jon, did you find any for sale?

Thanks, Joel

It's got all the pins and all you have to do is use a multimeter to find which wire goes to what pin .

I was thinking..... maybe you can score an aldl connector from a donor car(junkyard) and solder pins in it, it is a female, so simply making some terminal blades that plug in, and extend out, you can 'make' a male connector. just an idea, I was looking at doing that, but I haven't gotten down to the details yet. the only problem is that the pins don't get shrouded when it's unplugged.

Here is about $15.00 with 5 pins, shipped.
