Look at running the ARAP.BIN (89 MAF). All you have to do is disable the 9th Injector.

I don't know what the actual Memcal Part Number for the ARAP Bin is, but someone recently got one and maybe they can share it with you.

Alternatively, do a "search" on the DIY PROM Board for "ARAP" and you should be able for to find the post (plus a lot of other info on the ARAP BIN) which you will find useful.

The actual part no for the ARAP was 16134193, but it's been superceeded, I know of at least 3 updates to it. Depending on your parts guys thou, this might be the simpliest answer, since all he has to do is follow the look up sheet.

You actually want the latest part number per your application in case there were any netres or ESC updates.

You would still have to have the ARAP BIN modified, since ARAP supports VATS and your car does not have VATS.

Also, while I have played with the ARAP BIN, I have not seen the actual programming that is on the Memcal. If it (the Memcal) is the same as the ARAP BIN, you will need to adjust the Fan Switch for Normal Operation.

Thanx for the response guys. I looked up the arap.bin and found out exactly what it is it is a performance chipset that was used in the cars gm would give to magazines for performance tests = ). Until I get my prom burning equipment will i even be able to start up the 350 with my 86 305tpi chip still in it? Also what tuner should i use and what will it cost i know people say tunercat is good but is there another that is better ?? and if i do use tunercat someone said i need some configuration files to read the 89 arap.bin file anyone know where i can find that??

You'll be able to run the car just fine. Not optimally. It should let you break the car in.
