27c256?

I am using m27c256c chips in Merceds for tuning purposes. I am new to the chip thing and would like to know if there is a flash chip that would interchange? I notice you guys talking about At? chips?

Yah, AT29C256 are the flash chips that work. You can get them from http://www.jdr.com/

Thanks,
I just ordered a couple to see how they react.

I have had problems with my programmer so I am going to send it back to get it repaired or replaced. I hope this will fix things.

Yeah, if your programming voltages are not correct in the Pocket Programmer, you will NOT be able to program the AT29's and some other chips as well if you ever come around to it. Defintaly get it fixed.

GM,
Thanks for the help. My problem with the programmer is that I get a different checksum from the thing every time a read the same chip. If I dump in a file from disc, all is OK. I think it is the programmer. I have sent it back today.
