Yes the SES will come on if you made a change and did not make the checksum update. You will be in limp mode.
The KR in AUJP can be up to 20* (not in PE) at 100 Kpa
($8220-$8228)
0* KR below 50 Kpa
50 Kpa = 4.9*
60 Kpa = 10*
70-100 Kpa = 20*
($8218-821F)
13-15* when in PE mode (this one is RPM based).
To disable it you can:
raise the min KR engin temp to 255 at 820C
Not really advisable to totally "lock it out", better to reduce the amount of KR attack rate at ($820E-$8212) and in the above tables and add more to the Knock recover ($8213) so it comes back once the knock is gone.
Adding allot to the recovery table is a good option if you are having knock but want to leave the stock tables alone.
