.txt to .xdf ?????

I am very new to this prom burning. I havent burnt one prom yet. I bought the harware from moates and downloaded TunerPro. I have read the stickies and understand most of it for not doing it before. I have just started and already hit a snag. I read my stock chip and saved the .bin ok. I have found a def file and saved that. When that saved it is a .txt file. So is what I thought I did was rename it to save it as a .xdf file. It did not work. What am I doing wrong?? No matter what I do to the file( rename or save a different way) when I select a xdf it always says invalid xdf file.

Where did you download it from? Right-click on the link to the download and select "save as". Save it to your computer, then open it. If that doesn't work, either it's corrupt or invalid.
