I have an AutoProm. Where in the hell do I start? :)

Hey guys,
I have an AutoProm and all the related goodies. I want to do only one thing at this point: remove VATS from my '93 LT1 PCM so I can start my engine.

Where do I start? I have no idea and even after reading on Moates.net haven't yet been able to get things running.

Can someone help me? I don't even know what .bin to use! It's a '93 Camaro LT1/6-speed powertrain.

Thanks a lot,
Colin

I will add that this powertrain is being installed in a 1972 Vega GT with a Painless Performance harness. It's a barebones system. I will be deleting the EGR, as well. No cats. No A/C. No power steering. No power brakes. I have one belt to run the alternator only. No power accessories. I have a K&N filter on the throttle body.

Thanks,
Colin

Place to start is to read your current stock BIN. Should be able to read it with the autoprom and an adaptor. Then use that BIN as the basis for your changes.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

I have hooked everything up but I haven't been able to read my PROM. Is there a step-by-step instruction manual on how to get the AutoProm working correctly? I've read up on it quite a bit but there doesn't seem to be a step-by-step guide.

I'd love to get my Vega fired before Christmas
Later,
Colin

I'll also add that I do have Craig's adapters. I have the whole shebang. I just don't know how to read the PROM or even where to start.

Thanks,
colin

Colin,

Feel free to get with me offline, and I'll be glad to walk you through all the steps personally, either over the phone or via email.

Best regards,
