EBL Updates

Is there a list or something for updates to EBL code and WUD?

Not publically available. I'd like to put it on the web site but haven't had the chance. The code updates are: EGR, CCP, and a commanded high idle (for vehicles with on-board air or welding).

The WUD has had quite a few updates. Way too many to list here. The VE table smoothing is one of the best enhancements made. It is worth getting an update just for that. It is a curve fitting algorithm that works the VE tables into shape.

RBob.

What does it take to get the updates? You could make a password protected zip file and post it on the web and then provide the password to your customers. Without the password you could not unzip the file. That way it would be protected.

RBob - If you want I would be willing to package the zip file as well as host it on our website.. www.crossfireinjection.net

All you need to do is send me the files.

Jim,

I think Bob is concerned with theft of IP. Maybe Bob could issue logins and PW so that the updates are available online rather than needing to distribute via CD. I didn't know tthe smoothing was available. I have been using the one available thru TPRT. Which Ver of the WUD has smoothing available?

The VE smoothing, Autoupdating, and learn feature is amazing! I figured out what the heck was happening with my autoprom not emulating properly, an issue I've had for some time now. I am using magnus' Emutility, and the new WUD, and my VE tables look smoother and much better then the ones I posted last week on a different thread. You may want to think about getting it Dominic.

I'd love to. How did you get it? I took the car out today since its pretty nice here in Chicagoland. I got 3 MALF codes that came up. The car literally shut off while driving then restarted. Did this several times. I got a IAT Hi, ESC and EST code. Something tells me the ECM interface while datalogging may have been loose. I have experienced this before if the USB cable running to the Ostrich is a bit out of position either at the laptop or the Ostrich itself. Need to drain the bat and see if I get those codes again.

Dom - I have no issues with RBob protecting his IP - I don't blame him one bit. I just want to get the updates they sound pretty cool.

Agreed. I'd like to see a convenient and timely way of getting updates. Its Bob's business and I certainly understand his perspective.

The reason the update isn't available publicly is what Dominic mentioned. I learned (DIY-WB anyone?) that anything put on the web is free game to anyone that wants it.

On the upside, my intention is to provide free updates to EBL owners for the life of the product.

Just shoot me an email address that will accept a zipped file of about 300K (it is small). I'll send the full package out. There is a utility to copy your current BIN calibration over to the new BIN, along with the docs, ECU/XDF and WUD program.

If an EBL owner wishes a CD I'll also do that.

RBob.

I know how you feel. I was driving home from work tonight, emulating, and all of a sudden the car shut down. I couldn't upload a bin, everything on the WUD would just flash erraticly. Put in a back up PROM, drove home. So I am going through the whole troubleshooting thing, them I see my o2 isn't switching. So, I get a 4 wire from the garage, hook it up, and it is no good. SHould hgave threw it away. So, I find a tomco universal 2 wire, no heater, but I put it in. The I take the Autoprom in the house to the desktop, cause I can't seem to get a chip to burn on the craptop, and it burns fine. I think the USB port on the craptop went out to lunch on me. GREAT! No to find a way around that, a USB card maybe??
