flash eeproms direct from laptop?
flash eeproms direct from laptop?
i drive around fixing copiers-when i am employed. i use my laptop to flash eeproms in canon copiers to re-load software or update to newer version. it is a canon software that, i am sure, will only work for their applications. is anybody aware of something available that we can use to eliminate the programmer?

The nvsram based emulator that I built for the '730 ECM sort of works like you describe. I use my laptop to upload new calibration data to the ECM over the ALDL port.

I use an Ostrich(a real-time emulator)which plugs into the place where the chip used to be. The Ostrich in turn is connected to my laptop via a USB cable. I can change bins while the car is running. Tuning would consume a lot more time without the Ostrich.
