prominator upload verify failures
I'm attempting to upload .bin files into my Prominator. I suspect my chain of events is wrong, as it tries to upload, then tells me it " failed to verify"
I'm turning on the computer, bringing up the prominator loading program
ignition key to "on Position"
turn prominator switch to number a particular bank (0-7)
open the prominator upload software, connect, find prominator
select my file
option LTP1 port
hit the green arrow button to upload
here's what happens:
below on the prominator window it cycles back and forth from "program" to "verify" a few times. On the third time it usually stops then says " failed to verify" and gives a bunch of addresses six or seven of them.
I also notice if I twist the dial to a different bank number on the switch and reload again, it'll usually say bank "0" when I'm actually on bank 1 or 2.
Hitting the verify button sometimes says "ok", sometimes not, but doesn't always seem to shift it bank number in accordance with the actual bank I'm at.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: prominator upload verify failures
Any prominator users having similar experiances? What procedure do you use to be successfu?.
Re: prominator upload verify failures
if it could go whong it would for me.
my procedure is:
1. the bin switch is already set to whatever pos i care to use. yesterday it was #1. I believe I can set where ever I wish it set to. lately i just write over existing in #1
2. the laptop is up running. the ribbon cable attached.
3. i run Prominator software. it says turn on ign switch. i do
4. it says found Prominator or if not it says not in red. then so I click find Prominator.
5. click on file and locate bin.
6. download bin
7.remove the ribbon cable
8. shut down program.
i am successful 99% of time.

Re: prominator upload verify failures
Thanks for the response. It seems weird that the notice under the verify box rarely seems to be consistant with the bank that I beleive I have loaded to.
I would have expected that I could simply run up and down the 8 banks (0-7) with a twist of the dial and keep loading the next bank without need to unplug or turn things off between times.,

Re: prominator upload verify failures
I have never loaded multiple bins into my switcher in one session. But i believe the switcher has a bin in each that are outdated. I have never switched bins with engine running with the dial feature. are you successful in doing this?

Re: prominator upload verify failures
This is part of what seems to be an issue. I'm switching to the next bin , and loading a second/third file Sometimes I get thee failure notice, sometimes not. it's inconsistant, and the red block lettering below the "verify" box rarely corresponds to the bank I'm working with, So i have no idea ifit actually loading.
SInce I'm having other spark issues, I can't yet run the vehicle on any file.

Re: prominator upload verify failures
Good to hear from you John. Progress report at NAISSO. PM me or email at lakeffect@gmail.com. Saw a purple thong in the yard, figured the sheep were loose again.
Got the 400 block in but no fire in the hole yet. No spark Can't figure it out. New thread at https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...-mudville.html
All theories accepted.
