Is there a way to force open loop idle in $8D 730

Wondering if this has been done yet. Idle in open loop but cruise in closed loop.....

When S_AUJP V4 is released you can.
If I make it to Thirdgenfest........not holding my breath.

Are you using a heated NB sensor?
What are the cam specs?
I got a shelf XFI 286 in a similar setup to idle decent via email.

That's a good V4 tester setup there.
Should have all the problems normally associated with heavy modifications.
Do you do all of your own tuning?
Are you interested in testing this yourself?
It is currently working on several cars already, just need "new user" feedback on the doc package and setup for when the release to the public is done.
I'm getting back into finishing the docs currently. Not ready yet, but soon.
Shoot myself or Z69' a PM.

You can idle in PE mode. That about the same thing as open loop.

control of the air fuel ratio. cammed cars don't have a nice idle and the o2 sensor will lie to you. going open loop lets you dial in whatever injector pulsewidth makes the engine happy at idle.

I do all the tuning myself using datamaster, tunercat, and removable EEPROMS. I am running a heated O2 in the drive side collector. Cam specs are in the area of 236/242 duration .584/.593 lift 112lsa. Its just seems the afr is not correct at idle as the exhaust smells rich and engine is a bit ruff. Idle is stable tho would just want to clean it up a bit. I'd be interested in giving V4 a try.

Try change the O2 constant for closed throttle, I tuned a car 2weeks ago and it did help the idle alot.

A WBO2 will help alot when tuning........

Try 402 & 442 for your idle o2 constants.
They seemed to work reasonably well for an XFI cam with the same .050 numbers but on a 113 lsa. Still haven't had time to go back and try for better.

I also have a WB02 but it wont do much good if I cant control the AFR at idle. I use it to tune WOT.

Z69 Ill give those idle constants a try......what the ETA on V4?

While a WB will read the afr at idle.
There isn't any clear data as to what it should read when using bigger cams.
I've seen posts from people idling just fine with an indicated 16 or so on the WB. I got 14.7 or so with the above and a 14.3 stoich setting for the 10% ethanol in the gas. Still haven't tested with more or less fuel to see if idle will improve.

Not sure on the V4. Both of us are a little burnt out right now.
I'll try to dig up a clean V4 bin for you to test.
All the docs that go with it are the big hold up right now.

Darn!
Should be working it pretty hard by the end of the week to get a package together on that.
