Stupid Q

i ordered a ALDU1+CABL1 Combo for my 92 tbi camaro and i cant find where it plugs into the ecm? do i disconnect one of the main plugs the wires go into?

Sorry im new to the whole tuning thing,

I also received my Ostrich and i finally got my laptop in so im all ready to tune... after i solder the 24 pin socket in haha

Under the dash, drivers side, in the fuse box area is the ALDL connector.

Another problem, sorry


I plugged my ALDL in and started datalogging with WinALDL. Everything worked fine, but when i try TunerPRO RT it wont datalog or moniter my car. I have my bin file and the ads and the xds. Any help?

Which ADS are you using? You need the one for 1228746. I believe there's one floating around the forum here that you can find with a search (search on '1228746 ads" or '8746 ads' or '$61 definition', etc).

Yea i downloaded the correct ADS file off of tunerpro. The weird thing is that it can datalog and everything but its not recording any data? Hmmm...

While monitoring, but before logging, are you seeing valid data come through with TunerPro?

nope, thats the problem.. but it says everything is connected, and i know everything is hooked up right because WinALDL works.

You never did tell me which ADS file you're using. It could be a definition issue. Perhaps it's set to look for the wrong packet size.

For 160 baud, what constitutes connection isn't made very clear in TunerPro. Connected means that TunerPro is getting data from the serial port, not necessarily that it's constructing a valid packet from the data.

I got the ads file off of mark's website for my 1228746 ecm, but could the file be different for the L05 and the L03?

Your right, i got the xdf file off the site and i got the ads file off of moates, the ads file is for the L05 though
