Re: ostrich help
well i got home form work plugged the ostrich in and it worked after i set some of the setting right.
but now im getting a rapidly flashing cel and a high idle. im assuming its limp mode.
dont matter what i do but it always starts in limp mode.
im using the 42 xdf file and a bin for the 4.3 i found.
dunno what im doing wrong. tunerpro rt reconized the ostrich. ive got checksum disabled. and it says its emulating. but when i start the truck i get a solid cel and its still in limp mode

Re: ostrich help
If you modify a bin on the fly, and then load it to the Ostrich without saving it to the hard drive the checksum will be wrong. This always results in the ECM going into Limp Home Mode at an engine start-up.
Save the modified bin to the hard drive, then Open it and Upload to the Ostrich before starting the engine.
It's been a couple of months since I've used mine, but this is how I remember it being. If you still can't figure it out PM me and I'll look into it again.
Limp Home Mode is obvious because the Cooling Fan will run with just the ignition key turned ON.

Re: ostrich help
I'm having the same problem, I've disabled the checksum (i've tried both locations 04 and 08) I've tried useing the 28 pin adapter and also changing the jumper settings to emulate a 24 pin chip as well. Granted I've only spent20 minutes and haven't messed with it in a while.
I'm thinking there is something i'm doing wrong, as it's worked fine on two 165' ecm's and one 730' ecm.
I'm about ready to do another TBI setup and I want to get this working. Any suggestions?

just to be certain that it is infact limp mode, when i start the truck up i get a solid CEL and a 2000rpm idle. from a cold start like today after work it will idle good for about 1-2 seconds then go to a 2k idle.
