Question about MAP and Datalog Data...

Hello all, I am trying to find out a few things here. First, what range should your MAP volts be reading at? Can you very easily find a vacuum leak with this?

Also, when you are just starting to dial in an engine, as far as fuel goes, is it best to just mess with the MAF tables or scalars, or should you go right in to PE and some of the more complicated (at least to me) stuff along with them? I am talking $6E here by the way.

I hope that one of you could answer my questions, or at least point me in the right direction to find out.

Thank you very much for your answers.

Map readings will de different depending on your application ie: cam selection, intake, heads, ect. but should be somewhat consistant (not bouncing all around at a given load point) An abnormal reading could indicate a vacume leak. In my opinion, the best way to find one is to do a visual first. If nothing is found but you still still suspect a vacume leak, spray a little starter fluid at each connection a listen for a change in idle speed.

As far as fuel, I rough in open loop first, then closed loop, then light cruise. After that I move onto timing and fine tune fuel again in the same order.
