Cold Start Fueling Questions
Cold Start Fueling Questions
I have an issuse with cold start fueling after installing the TPIS 700-701 solid cam and single plane EFI Super Victor intake. At normal temps, the car starts and idles fine with block learns in the 126 to 128 range while in closed loop. When I start the car back up while hot and it in closed loop, it still starts and runs fine with very crisp throttle response.
The problem is when it is cold. The coldest I have started it is about 45 to 50F. It fires up and just chokes on on fuel actually backfireing through the exhaust at idle. If you goose the gas it will backfire out the intake which usually from what I know suggest a lean tip in. Once the car gets some heat, it runs fine. Does the ECM use an adjsuted value of the VE during open loop? In other words, if my block lean in open loop would be say 126 at idle, does the ECM trim the fuel in open loop based upon a reduction in fuel or does it use the value you input?
My open loop vs coolant temp and open loop vs MAP are all stock (91 vette bin). The car idles at 60 kpa. I don't kow much about these tables and didn't find much in when I did a search.
Are these the tables I should be fooling with or is this more of a timing issue?
