Re: VE table survey/questions

Thats not necessarily true. Its best when the available power is best able to pull the load. Unfortunately on my van that doesn't hold true. I have a table-top flat torque curve and my MPG is best at 75 mph in OD (1,800 rpm) and drops when I downshift to 3rd (2,600 rpm). The MPG is worse cruising 55-65 mph in OD or 3rd. If I try to run 80+ for very long, the large frontal area works against me and it starts to DRINK fuel.

Re: VE table survey/questions

I will try with 65-70 mph on my next longer trip and see where the mileage goes, will probably have my laptop connected and keep an eye on the Trip screen. I guess Lean Cruise will do some good also.

Re: VE table survey/questions

I am just wondering where the middle or avg torque is on your torque curve.

It is common for max torque to be at max VE for any peticular engine.

Re: VE table survey/questions

Hey ya'll,

What is with the valley of death in my low speed VE. I am on my 15 or so WB learn with EBL. Car appears to be running better each time, but this appears to be questionable.
