165 $6E for 5.7 and Manual
I need to know which bin I would do best starting with. I have the Injection and wireing for an 86 IROC, along with the 1227165 ecm and a Borg Warner M39 5 speed. I've already upgraded to 24# injectors. My engine is a 350 with iron heads. I'm not sure how to pick one and I don't know how to make the auto bin work like a manual bin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Find the post "Moates and Tuner Pro", you'll find info in that post to help and direct you in the right direction. If you are using tuner pro, you need to look under the "flags" tab. Set the flag or turn it off, I believe you will need to enable it for a manual tranny. Disableing it will set it for an atuo tranny. I'll tell you what everyone has told me "read the stickies and then read them again" they will help you greatly. Also, be as specific as you can about your setup it will help others help you.

Re: 165 $6E for 5.7 and Manual
I've read all of the sticky arguments several times. I don't have a starting bin. I have a memcal from an 86 IROC which is a 305 with an automatic tranny. Not really wantin to modify every single parameter. I would like to get an idea of the stock bin that would take the least modification to make work properly. I have tons of mods, but I need a base to start from. My CSI has already been deleted, so I really need 6E, or some concrete plans to make the other injectors compensate in 32 or 32b. I would like to switch to SD, but funds and time don't allow that at the moment.

I started with APYP for an 89 Vette. It's needs alot of timing mods but it was a good start.

I tried that one, but I guess I couldn't get the timing stuff right. I would be very interested in your modifications for that bin. It seemed to work very well except it made my engine run really hot with the advanced timing.

Re: 165 $6E for 5.7 and Manual
I put the "PE mode spark advance" and the "spark correction-LV8 vs coolant temp" tables at "0". Then, I adjusted the "spark advance" table to look kinda like an "old school" distributor with vacuum advange.
On the high load (208 LV8) side I put the timing at;
22 @ 1000
23 @ 1200
25 @ 1400
27 @ 1600
28 @ 1800
29 @ 2000
30 @ 2200
30.5 @ 2400
31 @ 2800
31.5 @ 3200
31.5 @ 3600
32 @ 4000+
I just blended it to emulate a distributor's mechanical advance.
On the low (34-112 LV8) side I started at;
24 @ 1000
30 @ 1200
35 @ 1400
39 @ 1600
41 @ 1800
42 @ 2000
43 @ 2200
44 @ 2400
45 @ 2800+
It's sort of rounded with 64 LV8 being the highest and it looses a couple of degrees at LV8 levels on each side. Until it gets to 128-144 LV8 where it drops rapidly and blends with the 208 side. The graph looks like a big hump on the left and a ski jump on the right. Then, I datalogged to see where I needed to make changes so it ended up having some wierd shelfs and a few spikes here and there.
It is the best way for me to start and it runs great this way. I was unable to find a bin with a curve like what I wanted. Hope this helps.

Thanks. That is probably the best information I've received so far. Everyone says read the stickies and read them again, but they just look like a bunch of arguements with some low tech info blended in for the MAF stuff. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems as though they are trying to push SD and leave out the MAF people. Odd that GM only used SD exclusively for 3 years. In 93 the MAF came back, and everything since then uses it. I should start a MAF TPI website.

Hey I've just learned a thing or two about really getting the MAF rolling. Not that I'm an expert by any means. For me it was all about getting the spark timing and the MAF tables right. I have a modified MAF (less screens and fins) and it was a real bear trying to get it right. That is until I changed the scalers/tables. Man what a differance. Right now I've got basically a stock APYP bin with my own SA table, MAF scalers/tables at stock x 1.1, and a few other tweeks here and there. I found a couple of other things that were holding me back and I cant wait to do some more logging. It took me about 80 versions to figure out what to do then I started over just cutting and pasting in what I needed. The stock bin really wasn't that far off. Let me know if I can help you out cause so many people did a lot for me. (special thanks to RednGold86) As you know the info is kinda confusing for us MAF'ers but it's not that hard once you get a few basic points. And ther is no substitute for just doing it. Anyway, good luck.

ANZA.bin is a 1989 305 5-Speed bin. If you change the fuel injector constants to #24 and disable the VATS flag it should work.

Nice, does that one require much timing mods to make it work with a 350 with iron heads?? I noticed a little bit higher timing for the 305s than the 350s.
