What if I use a 4th gear switch ...
... that is Normally Closed in the trans on a chip where the 4th gear is flagged Normally Open?
I strongly suspect that I'm in this situation.
When I'm in 1st or 2nd or 3rd the ECM think I'm in 4th, and when I'm in 4th the ECM hinks I'm in 1st or 2nd or 3rd....
I can see this comparing different Datamasters scans .
The oldest are with a trans with a NO switch and the newer are with a NC switch.
I have no strange problems on TC apply ( the tables are the same for low gear and Hi gear). What I'm asking if the fuel/spark can be affected by this .
Thanks

Easiest solution is to set the option bit for the type of 4th gear switch ($8016, bit 2).
In $8D other items are affected by which gear the ECM thinks the transmissions is in.
RBob.

I'm ready for the easiest solution. I have the new chip ready..
you said: " In $8D other items are affected by which gear the ECM thinks the transmissions is in."
The " other items " are the items are interested in.
searching in the anht_HAC the "4th" term appears many many times, but I really don't understand how to read it.
Thanks
