EGR on & fuel grade
EGR on & fuel grade
Hi all,
I have a 7747 TBI ECM and a 350.
I got the VE tables dialed in, and I'm ready to start setting the timing.
I'm guessing I need to renable the EGR.
There is a EGR temp, but there is also a whole bunch of other fields like low/hi vss & low/hi TPS is there a page that talks about the best settings for those?
Also would switching to a higher grade fuel allow me to increase my timing, and is it worth it? I'm running 87 right now.
I'm trying to get better fuel milage if it makes a difference
Thx

Re: EGR on & fuel grade
I would finish up the SA tuning before enabling the EGR. With EGR active there is additional SA added. Which needs to be tuned in with the EGR.
Going to a higher octane fuel is only advantageous if the heads are detonation limited on the current fuel. In this case SA can be added and more power derived from the engine. Which method results in less outlay for fuel is something that will need to be tested.
