Ostrich Help!
Hi Guys!
have been using an Autoprom for a little while now but decided to get an Ostrich 2 that I can leave in the car. I'm not really understanding how I'm supposed to use it with TunerPro RT?
I was expecting it to be found when I opened up TunerPro in the same way that the Autoprom was found. I have loaded all the drivers and have set it to various COM ports (its currently at COM3).
I have just 3 options in TunerPro for cable settings:
MAX232/2-Trans/AP
Autoprom
Translator Pro
What should I be using? I have tried the Autoprom since and this still loads up as usual.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: Ostrich Help!
Have you tried updating your firmware from Craigs website? This is suggested on the tunerpro downloads page.

Re: Ostrich Help!
First lets make sure you computer is seeing the Ostrich. Those 3 options in TunerPro for cable settings you are talking about are only for the ALDL cable for logging. It has nothing to do with seeing the Ostrich for uploading a bin. While you are in the TP preferences, make sure both the DETECT HARDWARE AT STARTUP and USE HIGH SPEED IF USB DETECTED are both checked.
Now lets make sure your computer sees the Ostrich:
Right click on the My Computer and go to Properties. On the Hardware Tab, click on Device Manager. You should now be able to see all the hardware on your computer. Expand the Ports section by clicking on the + sign. Now plug in the Ostrich. You should see a new port show up. If no new port, then try a different USB jack on your computer. Now if a new Port shows up, then you computer see the ostrich. Close Device Manager.
Now Open Tunerpro. If it doesn't see the ostrich and says hardware not found, then click the icon on the tool bar that looks like a computer cable. It will try to detect the hardware. It should eventually find the Ostrich. You may have to do it a couple of times.
Hopefully that works.

Re: Ostrich Help!
When you know what Coms port the USB is using , manually set that port in the TunerPro options.
Also disable check sum

Re: Ostrich Help!
You do NOT need to update your firmware. The AutoProm and the Ostrich use the same driver. If TunerPro can find the AutoProm, it should be able to find the Osrich. If you're sure this is the case (that TP can find the AutoProm but not he Ostrich using the same USB connection), then I think it's time to send your Ostrich in for service.

He lives in Baton Rouge and just went through a hurricane. He's without power or cable, and may be for another week. You can submit it through RMA on his site. In the notes, state the problem and that I told you to RMA it.
