VSS v.moarquestion

I've been looking for a couple hours now, mostly on here, some on the interweebnet, and have not been able to come across a pinout for the DRAC module, or 4-out buffer.

I have a DRAC module that I want to play with a bit on my test bench, and may ultimatly need to install in my car.

I have found lots of information on calibrating the DRAC, but not actually retrofitting it, and what each pin is. The only one I have been able to verify so far is that one of the Brown wires is the VSS signal to the ECM, since I have a truck here that I'm installing an aftermarket cruise in. (I haven't tested for ignition and ground yet, but will before the truck leaves).

If anyone has this information I would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Re: VSS v.moarquestion

I have the DRAC pinouts handy.

Code:
Pin#: Description:

 1 2K PPM
 2 N/U
 3 N/U
 4 4K PPM

 7 VSS Low
 8 GND
 9 +12V
10 128K PPM (for anti-lock module)
11 2K PPM
12 VSS High
13 40 PPR (only on C & Q series)
14 4K PPM
15 4K PPM
DRAC VSS input is 40 pulses per driveshaft revolution.

I have the 4-out around here someplace. I'll see if I can find it.

RBob.

Re: VSS v.moarquestion

Thanks RBob.

If you do find the 4 out buffer info, I would be greatly appreciated.

The reading I've done seems to indicate that the 4 out buffer would be what I would need and not a DRAC.

If I'm understanding the use of the DRAC, the ECM feeds a 40 PPR signal to the DRAC where it then converts this to 2K PPM and 4K PPM signals to be used by the speedo and cruise module.

In your pinout it looks like pins 7 and 12 would be from the VSS though, I would assume this would be a 40 PPR signal as well?

Re: VSS v.moarquestion

with a DRAC, the speed sensor inputs the 40 PPR to the DRAC & the DRAC outputs the signals to the to everything. 4K to the ECM, 2K to cruise, & 128K to the ABS module.

I think you have that wrong. The sensor feeds the DRAC, which feeds the ECM, cruise, and speedo.
