Datalogging from Linux

I took a break from writing the Linux-based PROM burning software (see http://www.steventsnyder.com/linuxburn.html) so that I could get another much-requested tool out there.

This is the first functional release of my OBD I ALDL scanning software. It's totally free and open source. You can add your own definitions; right now there is a definition for the $DF code mask used with the 3.4 DOHC from 91-93, but I think this is the same as some of the 7730 masks. It's easy enough to edit.

Hope this helps someone...

Re: Datalogging from Linux

I just bought an Acer Aspire One netbook for data logging. Unfortunately I bought the XP version with a hard drive, because I was unaware of any datalogging support in Linux. I do have mixed feelings about the long term impact of running a hard drive, so to have the option of using a SSD running Linux would have been a great alternative. I'm glad to see this as I think these netbooks are a hot ticket because of thier price and portability.
