Throtle FOLLOWER BIAS ???
Re: Throtle FOLLOWER BIAS ???
I think the answer is here. See Grumpy's post 7.10.05 857 am "bias"

Re: Throtle FOLLOWER BIAS ???
Thamks ronny,, I forgot but i do have these notes.---Its the max T.F. IN STEPS.--But curious as im a twin t/body and using a truck bin that has one IAC motor,so was unsure as to if i should lower mine.---A member i know said to lower my stock T.F. max bias by 50 %.-- What i would like to know is,, are the iac motors that much diff in size ?? and flow diff, air flows compared to one iac, or the crossfire that uses two..---Would be nice to know so as to help me set my setting correct --I never found any info on this.
Re: Throtle FOLLOWER BIAS ???
I never changed the bias. I believe bias is a factor to account for the speed or time of the change in position that may vary based on IAC stepper motor. that is a guess. Now sure if important.
I am direct opposite of you. when i replaced the CF with dual IAC to sigle IAC I noted the stock 8746 bin I recall was many steps(100?) for max steps. so for my 7.4L IAC I experimented. I think MAX for me now is 40 and I see cold cold start 40F deg at about 1100 rpms. Now you with 2 IACs maybe you need to reduce steps as well as you leak double. I would set to 50 MAX and address the steps in coolant temp tables from 50 cold to maybe 0-5 at full temp at idle. that will affect your idle speed as IAC controls . I idle at 0 steps warm with RPM controlled by throttle stop screw (TSS).
Confirm both IACs are working!

Re: Throtle FOLLOWER BIAS ???
So ron,, are you refuring to [MAX RETRACT IAC STEPS ]IN MY BIN ??? ----And I also have my iac vs temp table lowered by 40 %
Re: Throtle FOLLOWER BIAS ???
I dont know why MAX retract exists. It is a constant. I have mine set to the max steps I see in my coolant tables for idle RPM control. I presume there are other IAC steps desired in excess of 40 that I could benefit from like PE or maybe AE to add more CFM but I dont believe I would see any benefits. I wanted to have my IAC under a leash so that it does not mess with my tuning. I have only had IAC control for one tuning season this past year.
