Problems with Burning my First Chip...
Alright, I've searched and read and so on and so forth..... and i'm doin everything by the letter and can't get my bird to fire...
I'm running a 6E APYU Bin that I've modified over the last couple of weeks with a APU1 Autoprom. I can Emulate and datalog with no problems..... evrything works well.
I figured that I'd burn a chip today and close up the dash, but the car won't run off the burnt chip.
I took the ribbon out of the Autoprom placed the 27SF512 chip in with the propper orientation. (all the way to the back- with the notch toward the Zif handle.) Opened TunerPro RT>tools>Moates Prom I/O>27SF512
Proper chip address- start 00C000 End 00FFFF
Buffer Address- Start 000000 End 003FFF
Erased the chip
Load file to Buffer
Programmed Chip
Verified Chip
Everything went off without a hitch ....
Placed the Chip in the ECM, turned the ignition on and the Fuel pump just runs on and it won't start.....!!!
Any ideas?

I think your addressing might be wrong.

I thought 6E was a 32K bin?

Re: Problems with Burning my First Chip...
At key-on, engine-off, PROM or no PROM, the fuel pump should run for 2-seconds and then shut off.
To check that the ECM is running from the PROM: at key-on, engine-off, the SES should: turn on, blink off, then turn on solid. If the SES doesn't do this then the ECM isn't isn't running from the PROM.

Re: Problems with Burning my First Chip...
Thanks guys for responding so quickly!!!!.... I often feel like I'm on an island out here....
I went over everything again..... checked the SES like you said RBob.
With the Chip in the fuel pump just ran on and on.... no SES light just the security light lit up.....
With the chip out, the SES flashed and the fans turned on, couldn't hear the pump cause the fans were too loud....
This made me wonder about the orientation of the chip.... So I checked out the Moates page and checked out his G1 Adapter link and noticed that my chip was in BACKWARDS.....

On the "Using Offsets" page it says to orientate the chip notch towards the ZIF Handle in the APU1. Which is what I did.... nothing wrong with that.
But my G1 Adapter came with a ZIF on it as well....and I positioned the new chip in it the same way, which was backwards!!!!
On the bright side, everything is working nicely now.
By the way.... when I was downloading the 6E file to the chip it came up as being 16k (16384) so I used the corresponding offsets. Am I missing something else????? It is working now...

Nope, just my mistake about bin size, carry on.
'Grats on getting it figured out though. It's far too easy to put the chip in backwards.
