spark! how much can i go with?

Hi all

I have a question about dialing in the spark on my 730 ecm. I am running a 92 SD L98 that is modded with many aftermarket parts. The Bin is a Very modded version of AUJP ( if i dare call it that ) it was created for my by a friend. I have made a few changes to it ( very minor ) the car runs great with it but i am wondering if there is any left in the spark table to give me any more perf. I am using TP/RT and i can data log and make changes to the prom easily. I am running about 23* in the spark table and 3* in the PE adder. Does this sound like about right? I have NO Knock at all in my data logs, ( normal to heavy accell ) i do however have a knock count or 2 at tip in when running a WOT pass.
Question 1: Do i add spark to the entire table untill i see kR then back off some?
Question 2 : Do i just add spark to the higher Map areas to help with accell?
Also how the heck to i "post" my spark table from TP/RT so i can show you my table thanks GTA.

I'm running about 34 total timing all in by 3000rpms. I zeroed out the PE spark table and am using the main spark table to calculate spark. It's easier for me that way. I would add/take away timing in the 90-100kpa range from whatever your cam power band is in and leave the rest alone.

Thanks for the reply,

I too have a SR intake but i am only running a 350,My spark table is 23* from 3000 up starting at 85MAP with 3* in the PE adder, i wonder just how much power i am leaving on the table with such a low spark? I have a csv data log that i will try to post shortly. GTA Well i have a csv file just dont know how to post the stupid thing...grrrrrr

Depends on too many factors to even count. Some engines only like 26-28* on 87 octane. Cylinder head design, piston type, camshaft timing, exhaust system efficiency ALL factor into how much timing you can run.

Do you mean all in as in WOT? Sorry I'm a tuning newb and trying to learn the game, heh.

Re: spark! how much can i go with?

Guys, i have been playing with the spark and have succesfully added 1-2 degrees with no knock in the higher map regions, BUT i just noticed when looking at the data logs the car only hits 90-91 KPA at wot i am located at 1800 ft above sea level but that seems kinda low, it is a fairly hot humid day tho..any ideas as to why my wot kpa is so low? I do have a SLP cold air kit and the K@n filter maybe it is not enough? thanks GTA

Check a different MAP Sensor and see if it changes.
