VE tables vs OL/RPM/MAP

Is there any correllation between these two tables?

Are the values in VE used in manner to calc the OL A/F?

If so does it use the last BLM like the PE calc does?

if by correlation you mean the ECM uses the VE table as well as the open loop AFR table to determine how long of a pulsewidth while in open loop, then yes.

not sure on BLM though...

Re: VE tables vs OL/RPM/MAP

What Saar said, the VE table is always in use (except some calibrations that use PW tables while cranking).

The BLM value is always in use, even in open loop. It is ignored in PE mode when removing fuel.

The commanded AFR will then change the PW accordingly.

Greatly simplified PW calculation:

PW = ~AFR * ~T * VE * +-BLM

Re: VE tables vs OL/RPM/MAP

This is why I ask the question. My OL IDLE A/F per my WB seems to vary(always lean) based upon idle speed/MAP cell I am in. I believe there is no learning since I am commanded OL idle as well as OL <15MPH. So I presume the BLM correction being used is none or 128. So I therefore adjusted the OL/RPM/MAP tables for enrichment. Now I am commanded 13.5/1 and I see 14.0/1 on WB which is OK. Does that suggest my BPC/VAC is out of line. I use a VAFPR.

The BPC could be off a little. So could the VE table.
