Please help me decide
I am finally getting ready to start tuning and am in the process of buying hardware. Right now im thinking about the ostrich and the moates aldl cable. If I only plan on messing with my one car is there a reason i should go the autoprom route. I heard someone say something about how with the ostrich and seperate aldl you could use different programs to datalog I assume that would be a good thing. this is my first time and ill be doing on a 165 but plan to change to 730 later for boost capabilities, so if you have any suggestion let me know.

How does the ebl flash have an advantage over an emulator like ostrich. I think the real question I have is do I need to have a "hard copy" or can I trust the ostrich will always work because once I switch ecm's I will no longer have an original prom and will be relying on it.

I've been running the Ostrich 2.0 in my Datsun (1227749 running $59) for a little over two years now. I haven't experienced any hiccups.

Yep, sounds right.
The Moates ALDL cable works nice.
I also use Tuner Pro RT for a tuning program.

I won't argue with success, & the Moats gear has the advantage of being able to use your own, or others, custom definition files and transportability from one rig to another.
I feel that the EBL has the advantage in ease of use, the WUD, tune on the fly and of course VE learn capability & user defined add-on's.
I also use TunerproRT (v4) for editing.
