ECM Control of 4L60/4L80E
ECM Control of 4L60/4L80E
The diesel 4L80E standalone controllers are rarer then hen's teeth now.. I have searched and searched, and come up blank. Has someone ever experimented with a PCM that is as easy to work with as a 747 or 730, that also has trans control? How about a PCM that is fooled into trans control only? I have a 730 that will be running a 350 soon, and an MS2 that will be running a 428. Both vehicles I want to switch to 4L60/80. While I'm open to ECM suggestions for the 350 (but prefer the simplicity and all the research that has already gone into the 730)the MS2 is staying, so I'd have to add another ECM to run the trans. How about one of the 91-95 V6/V8 truck ECM's? Can they be tricked into doing PFI? All suggestions welcome!

Re: ECM Control of 4L60/4L80E
The '7060 is easy to understand and tune. As it is a P4 PCM (kinda' of a hybrid) it will handle the 4L80E and do PFI. Only one of the two injectors drivers will be used. Ground pin 56 of the MEMCAL for this.
Best to jumper over (short) the sense resistor for the PnH on that driver. Dang, can't find the notes on which of the two drivers is used. Although, need to make sure to disable the async injection feature in the calibration.
Should always be in sync mode.
In this mode one driver does a funny fire, fire, skip, fire deal. The other does the proper once per revolution.

I had everything to do this a while back and the changed the 4L60. I wish that I had that info back then. It seems to be very simple to do.
