Shift light re-use, in software..
Shift light re-use, in software..
Not a Third Gen question but one for the TBI gurus..
I plan on getting the EBL setup for my TBI vehicles, one a 5 speed S10, the other a 700r4 pickup.
On the 5 speed one, the shift light serves no useful purpose ( to me ), here's the question: Can the shift light output on the computer be reprogrammed to something else - say control electric fans? ( with the use of a relay circuit, of course ).
A quick search turned up one user wanting to use it to control N2O, so now I am semi confused.
Can the pin be temperature and / or a/c controlled?
If not, no big deal, just thought it'd be neat to have ECU controlled electric fans.

If you're getting the EBL, it already has additional outputs that can be used for electric fan or nitrous, or.....

What he said, I have the EBL in a TBI car, I am using the fan control, n2o control, shift light, pretty much all the extra outputs.
