165 6E SA SPARK TABLE QUESTION

Thank you to anyone that can give me some help. I have searched for the last two days and cant seem to get an exact answer.

My questions is when your engine is out of the main spark table, here does the ECU look to +/- the modifier tables.

I was thinking that If your out side of the table, that it might default to the maximum allowable spark scalar then +/- modifiers, but not sure if this is right.

Or the last cell just before you go off.

Again Thank You to anyone that can help me out.

Re: 165 6E SA SPARK TABLE QUESTION

If you mean like when the engine revs higher than 4800 (which is the highest RPM you can modify in the spark advance table) then yes it takes the last value on that table.

You can also adjust fuel past that though via the PE (power enrichment) table. It goes up to 6400RPM and you can add or subtract fuel. It adds/subtracts by percentage.

Re: 165 6E SA SPARK TABLE QUESTION

Hellz, thank you for the response, to start this is not my car, I am just trying to help a friend and my car is SD. I understand that if you go past 4800rpm that it takes the last cell and +\- modifiers and gives you you TSA. I have checked hid datalog and confirmed this, but here is the crazy part, his motor will pull over 220 LV8 even in low SA cells like 4000rpm and cant figure out which cell its is using when LV8 is high but still in RPM range of the SA cells. I just cant seem to find out where advance is coming from during these times.

Example If it pulls 215 LV8 at 5500rpm the if I take his last cell in 4800 and -\+ the the other tables, what I'm seeing at the ALDL is alomst exactly what I come up with(plus minus 1-2*). So I know its using that last cell but If it pulls 230LV8 at 4200rpm then I add any of the cells on the end or bottom or even just whats in any of the cells isn't what is coming out of the ALDL.

I know that its possible to extend the SA table to 6400 but I just wanted to understand whats going on.
