Noob here
been doing alot of research and playing around with tuner pro rt. So this is the problem..... a couple weeks ago i pulled the stock prom out 16147060 BAAY. I put in a similiar one with minor changes to things like engine temp and cam. So I get a good fire out of my truck. I go and swap the old prom back in and go to the store real quick. well on the way back I bog real bad ( im on stock prom) after a few days i try and do a test run after playing with something that I thought was the cause of the problem, did nothing...... Well now this thing won't let me have the timing wire plugged in (tan wire for timing) checked voltage its ok... I don't understand were my problem is...... New chip and old chip both won't work....... It gets better after searching the net I come to find out ESC (electronic spark control module) is in my onboard computer, I found out about the ESC thing cause it was the only thing that made sense, (idle jumps, tachs go crazy jump all over, runs lean then goes rich)....So WTF do I do now. I am pulling code 43... how can get around this? should I look into a msd6al????? I have alot of changes to my engine..... Is thete a way to program around this? Also I put a holley 670 pn#502-9 65lb injectors with a very mild cam. intake manifold MSD dizzy and wires.... anyone recommend a good start hack??? or any suggestions on witch way to take it? I cannot seem to find the 93 version of my prom closes I found was a 91 chevy 5.7l 16147060 baay, I dont think this is the proper file cause of the changes to the 93 motor? any help is appreciated. thanks forum......

Well, BAAY is what as known as the broadcast code (BCC). Which defines the calibration. It was used in '91 & '93 5.7l engines with a 4L80E transmission (not sure what happened in '92).
As far as the tach jumping and all, this is due to an ignition system problem. Check the plugs, wires, cap & rotor. From there check the ignition module and the pick up coil.
How did you go about installing the new PROM? Was this with a Moates G1? If so, the stock MEMCAL needs to be plugged into the side of it. This provides for the knock filter and CALPAKs to interface into the ECM. If not then a code 43 will be tossed.
