{resolved}Couple strange reading in TunerPro RT V5
I apologize to those who have seen this before, figured the issues I have now are not really related to my original thread so breaking them out.
88 305 TPI. Running 89 305TPI BIN (APYM) with the 1227165_6eExtended AXF and 6E AXD.
Coolant temp is reading 238.75 at startup. raised to 240.8 as the engine warmed up.
Replaced the sensor. Exact same readings.
TPS is reading .54 at idle but only goes to 1.33 at WOT. Confirmed at the ECM that I am getting full range .54 to 4.18v
any ideas?

.adx or .axf has incorrect information for application (.bin), one does not fit the other (calculation or direction?)...I thought you would figure it out, sry for making you wait.

Sry the other post (.xdf habit). Sounds like right stuff for your 7165.
Try reloading fresh copies, perhaps one has been inadvertently changed/damaged file.
Live data problem, start with the axf methinks. All else fails look for another hack (same application), maybe try TP4 to see if that sorts stuff correctly.

Going to pick up an upgraded ECM as well.
I thought the AXF was just for Tunerpro to decipher the settings from the BIN file.... The AXD actually does all the live data conversions.... Not the case?

Re: Couple strange reading in TunerPro RT V5
Well, another sign that I have a bad ECM maybe?
Got WinALDL up and running with my ALDU1 box. Got the same Temp and TPS reading there....
So I disconnected my coolant temperature sensor.....
I got a stable 108.5 F reading...
Shouldn't it of gone to -40C?
TPS reading were the same in WinALDL as well.. .54 low 1.31 high....
My service manual is no help here it seems.... I'm getting no trouble codes still.

This is correct, just not sure how the adx might have been changed, it's much easier to accidentally change the axf. Have you seen TP ask for axf change conformations?

Tunerpro has asked me to confirm changes a few times. I always answer no. I dont think its a tunerpro issue anymore though as per my last post...

Re: Couple strange reading in TunerPro RT V5
Monday Morning bump....
I would think if it was a Datastream definition error, this issue would of popped up in the past... Ive dont quite a few searches and cant find anything like what I'm describing here. I've got a new (used) ecm on the way for me to play with. Its a 16198259 which crosses over to the 1227165. so we'll see what that guy tells me.

Re: Couple strange reading in TunerPro RT V5
You may have a "bad" ECM. I had similar issues and I replaced mine with a rebuilt ECM from Advance Auto and my readings were normal in TunerPro after that. In addition, my ESC and other sensors started giving me readings as well.

Seems weird to me that I'd be running into a unique situation on a 25+ year old system. I've exhausted my search-fu on this issue. just got to throw parts at it now I guess.

Re: {resolved}Couple strange reading in TunerPro RT V5
Just came in from the garage. When I got home from work today, I had a new(used) ECM on my doorstep....
Swapped my chip into it and plugged it in.
Fired up WinALDL first.
Turned the key with apprehension...
58* Temp reading... Good sign!
.53TPS reading.. Step on the gas and watch the TPS go smoothly all they way up to 4.68! Woot!
Cranked the car. Fired Right up. No more hard cold start!
Throttle response was awesome. no more bogging when I pushed it to the floorboard.
Just wanted to update the thread because I hate it when I do a search for an issue. Find the exact issue I'm having, and read the whole thread only to find the resolution was never posted.
Moral of the story: If you're getting really strange "In range" readings and not setting off and SES codes, it quite possibly is still a Bad ECM.

Impaqt - Congratulations on the fix, but mostly kudos to you for coming back and closing the thread with a fix. I also waste more time searching for resolutions in vain. But this great forum is not the only one that is plagued with this. Actually personally, I find this forum has a bigger percentage of resolved issues than other forums. Thx again.
