TunerPro RT v5 Dash Gauges
TunerPro RT v5 Dash Gauges
First I want to thank all that helped in my other posts and others who already provided us rookies with stickies or archived threads.

Now that I have the AutoProm hardware and laptop communicating with the ECM, I'm experimenting with the dash layout in TPv5. Mixing Analog with Digital takes a lot of trial and error. The digital gauges seem to truncate some characters if the size is below a certain height or width. Since each gauge has the name, value and the units, too small of a size and the name gets chopped, the units may not be displayed and the actual value of 4 characters with a decimal, such as voltage of 12.55 gets the leading and trailing characters cropped. One such gauge is the "Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) Volts". The name is probably 3x the width of the actual value.
Questions:
1. Can we change the preferences, for this particular gauge to "MAP" ?
2. Can we change the size of the characters?
3. Is there a printable version of the "Gauge Names", other than a screen capture?
4. Is there a way to display any error code?
5. Is there a way to display degrees F instead of degrees C?
I did a lot of searching and found numerous threads on dash layout how-to. One that got my attention was JP's with I think 32 gauges.
Once again
in advance.

Yes, you can change the name, you would edit the name in the ADX editing screens.
Yes, the temp can be displayed in *F or *C, I usually add a new variable, that adds in the functionality of the opposite measurement, so I have a choice when looking at the dash. You can copy all of the same settings from the existing variable, but just change the look up table or calculation to change the final output. Again, this is done in the ADX editing screens.
As long as the error codes are sent through the data stream, they can be displayed, but the only way I know how to do that is to set up a bit gauge for every error code that would then display a true or false statement.

The names are kind of "give and take".
1.) You set the actual names of gauges/monitors by the "Values" definition "Title" box. Can't change them individually at the point of use.
The range for the displayed gauge also comes from the definition of the "Value" item.
2.) Size of the text is automatic based on the size of the item, can't do anything with that.
3.) Don't know a good way to do that.
4.) Use SES light as indicator to any fault, then use an item list view set to just view error codes. Thats how I do it. Just switch to the item list if the SES comes on and you can see what error occurred.
5.) Just define another "Value" of an existing item and Name it differently.
Copy the Offset and other items relating to the data item and change the conversion formula to F.
I'm still, stilll, still working on a final S_AUJP version to release that has good examples of these item lists, histograms for BLM etc, monitors and gauge setups. Might be done by Spring. Just back to getting my new 406 running so I'm trying like hell to make some headway on it.

Re: TunerPro RT v5 Dash Gauges
What about the "Unique ID". For example the Coolant Temp has a Unique ID of "4". If that have to be different, how can one tell what's in use?
Never mind, I just looked at every Value and Bitmap in the tree and each one is different. So I answered my own question. It must not be the same as any other Unique ID.

Re: TunerPro RT v5 Dash Gauges
After experimenting a while I managed to come up with a dash that suits my taste (for now), that is functional and without glitching or errors. Just thought I share the fruits of paying attention to the suggestions by the members. Especially the experts.
