EBL P4 and SD TPI harness with LT1???

Hey guys I have a question, I've been finally getting some of the odds and ends ready for my 383 LT1 swap and I want to run this by you guys and tell me what you think. I've been looking into the PCM side of the swap and from what I've found the regular PCM's can have some issues if you're not to careful (power surges during tuning) and you could fry them. So I had an idea about getting an SD TPI harness and using the EBL P4 to run it. I already have experience using the EBL Flash with TBI so Tunerpro RT would be easy for me. I'd plan on using a standard distributor so that wouldn't be an issue for me either. So what do you guys think? Do you think this would be a good idea?

Don't see why not. Could use the EBL Flash ECM with the Port Mod or go with the EBL P4 Flash ECM. With the EBL Flash the stock harness can be used with changing out the injector, TPS & IAC connectors.

With a TPI SD harness then go with the EBL P4 Flash ECM.

Well if I can get away with just doing the port mod on my existing EBL Flash I'll just send you mine then if it will work. How would I wire in the new injector harness?

you have to change the ends on the harness the tps and iac or use a tpi 85-92 throttle body. there is a 1/2 hole in the lt1 intake plenum so either throttlebody would work giving vacuum signal to the iac. you can easily convert you tbi to tpi and get the injector plugs from a v6 car in the junk yard and bypass your esc or this harness is reasonably priced.

Re: EBL P4 and SD TPI harness with LT1???

Well just for clarity, I plan on running a single plane with a 4150 style throttle body. Still on the fence about which TB to use. So if there was ANY way I could just tie into my existing harness and just add more lines for the extra injectors that would be a God send. I know that the Stock TPI harness splits off from 2 injector wires into the 8. Would the same concept still apply in this situation?

Rbob will need to chime in but using a 1227730 it will work but I don't believe the injector driver on the RBI will support the extra load resistance.

Wire four injectors in parallel on each driver. These will need to be the regular high impedance injectors (> 12 ohms). This will be batch fire, same as the TPI set ups. All eight fire at the same time.

That definately sounds like a plan to me, how much would it cost me to send my Flash back to you and have the port mod done?

It is the cost of the Port Mod plus shipping. I'll PM you.

Sweet Bob, i got your message. I have one more question, For the time being can I still run in "TBI" mode even with the Port mod done or will it be Multiport only?

No, unfortunately not. Once the Port Mod is installed it is MPFI only. We did this to keep the cost down.
