Anyone ever add boost to a datalog stream?

'89 Vette, '165 computer, 6E, TunerproRT. I have a crane ignition box with TRC-2 retard control, boost referenced. It has it's own 2 bar map sensor. I was thinking of a way of tapping into the boost sensor wire feeding the TRC-2 box, and feeding it to the computer, then add a constant with an equasion in Tunerpro to calculate boost out of voltage, then feed that out the ALDL and into my laptop when datalogging.

I don't know anything about what I would need to do to accomplish this, but I do know how to add a pin in an empty slot on the computer and wire it up. I added the wideband to the datalog, but I just followed instructions on a thread I found and it worked. Anybody able to explain in laymans terms what pin I could hook to on my computer and what I would need to do in Tunerpro to add that into the datastream?

I'm new at this, but wouldn't your MAP sensor reflect your boost?

You also need to change the code (firmware) in the ECM. This would be to read that ADC channel and place the result in RAM. The ALDL stream then needs to be changed to output that RAM value.

Thanks for the reply!

I couldn't begin to figure out how to do all that. I can follow directions but I can't write programming or figure out what to change. Was just wondering if anyone ever tackled this and could give me directions of how to do it.

Moates AutoProm has 3 extra channels to tap into and easy to add a value in TunerPro adx file.
