Programming for boost

I just started programming I will be curious about adding turbo eventually as well.

Is there a how-to from the programming size (never mind the turbo sizing and those discussions). I'm looking for how to adjust fuel, spark, and how to use a 2bar MAP? I have questions like:
how does the 2-BAR map read? (same range (scaled) or increased range)
do I need new code or are tables ok?
etc.

I have a '7427 ($0D BJYL cal, 1995 Suburban 5.7, auto) that I would like to lightly boost to get over the asthmatic engine design (IH 345)

Many thanks.

Re: Programming for boost

We've talked about doing a 2 bar MAP on a regular ECM but would have to be with a tuner program like TunerPro that you can make changes to the files.

1 bar map sensor reads from 0 to 100 which is all atmosphere and vacuum.

2 bar map reads 0 to 200, 100 to 200 being boost.

In the end the mask does not have what a 1227749 $58 or enhanced $59 code does. I don't know if Code59 will work in other ECM/PCM but you could look into it. It does work on a 1227727.

You should look at Dynamic EFI EBL for your PCM as it has functions available for this.

As Eagle stated dunamicefi.com. Note it has self learning and can create a new .bin of the Learn.

I run N20 so it is invaluable as it offers safeguards. On the site there is intro to tuning info. Part 2 talks of power adders.

Re: Programming for boost

As a geek, I often wonder why we don't have self-learning with TunerPro. With the emulation mode of the APU1, the only thing that is needed is some software module to make adjustments for you. If TunerPro doesn't offer it itself then I'd just need to know how to read a BIN and talk to the emulator. Oh and how to "autotune". It would also help to have some kind of accelerometer plugged in to monitor real-world acceleration. If I had the tuning and hardware know-how I could do the programming.

Re: Programming for boost

If you use your BLM history table you can use History STD deviation for adjusting VE.

We have also completed the first phase of a full autotune funtion! After this it get's harder...
