Moates ALDL Hardware Not Found.

The vehicle is a 1993 Trans Am LT1 350 A4. My car turns on and runs FYI.

The problem I am having is connecting my moates device, I just bought it and I can't get this to work on my car. This one.. http://www.moates.net/aldu1-and-cabl...bl1-combo.html

I want to be able to datalog and in the future start tuning this baby after i get all codes and stuff fixed.

ISSUE:
I am getting "hardware not found", "not emulating", "not ready" and "not connected". I can click Initialize Hardware and it comes up with "Hardware not found" Key is on and i've tried with the car on as we'll.

WHAT I'VE DONE
I've tried on two different computers.
I have installed the usb software and have done the Tools>Preferences>Interface Type (Max232/2-Trans/A...) Selected Com Port 3 and at 10 Hz then saved.
I tested for valid cable using settings and received that it was found and functiong properly.

I have $DA3.XDF, BDZL 1993 A4 TransAm.BIN, and DA2.ADS

So how do I get this thing connected and scanning/data-logging??? Is their certain steps to connect or am I missing anything? Help me please, thanks!

Re: Moates ALDL Hardware Not Found.

you have to load the adx file in the settings or preferences for data logging/emulation depending on your software and what your trying to do

hmmm I think V4 used a .ads file, so you may have the right file I'm not sure I use $59 stuff so that's all I know off the top of my head.

where/how are you loading the ads file in tunerpro?

Re: Moates ALDL Hardware Not Found.

Yes, you need an ADS file for Tuner Pro V4, ADX is the file used with Tuner Pro V5.

The "detect emulation hardware" button is not for datalogging hardware, only emulation hardware, so you will never get any hardware detection when using the ALDU1. If you had an Ostrich 2.0 or AutoProm, you would use that button then.

Re: Moates ALDL Hardware Not Found.

yeah i normally click "select xdf" and select "DA3.xdf" then click "initialize hardware" and it comes up with "hardware not found" I then tried adding the BIN file and again i pressed initialize hardware and it came up the same.

OH and when I click to add the ads file with the DA3.xdf is in Tuner Pro RT it gives me an error saying "mismatched ADS and XDF file"

so how do I data log with this setup? Am i missing something or doing something wrong?

Re: Moates ALDL Hardware Not Found.

An XDF is not the same as an ADS.

Download the ADS for your application, and stop trying to use the detect emulation hardware button, it won't do anything for you, without emulation hardware.

You need to set up the datalogging under Tools > Preferences > ALDL/Emulation.

Re: Moates ALDL Hardware Not Found.

Thanks for your responses, fast replys, and help!

I have the .ADS file already which is the "DA2.ADS"

I already have the ALDL/Emulation configured to the cable & tested and it works.

I just don't know how to make it work I will work on this tomorrow after work 6 pm central time. Thanks again. I'll update this post.

Yep, after the set-up is done in preferences, just click the crossed blue arrows to connect.
