TunerPro 5 newbie - VE learn?
Does TunerPro V5 has a VE Learn feature built in or can it be scripted?
If scripted, anyone have a good example?
That is, can it save a table of BLM differences and update the VE tables?

Definitely not built in, no idea about scripting anything like that.
Usually people use excel spread sheets to do what you describe, this is how it's done in $59, and a few other codes that I've seen.

Poke around for VE tools, programs guys make that you import your data or tables to, I know I've seen a few. I haven't needed or used one.

Same here, the couple times I tried to use a " Fixer" or "Auto Tune" spread sheet, the values were WAY off, and no where near what the engine actually wanted.
Re: TunerPro 5 newbie - VE learn?
Depending on the ECM and files needed many already have BLM (etc) history tables built in. If not here is how to build one:

Many spreadsheets are around to do the math for you after you get good data.

How does it write to bin?
I have made some values for adx to use data to make corrections needed in fuel VE tables, but without filtering data from AE, PE ect... it's only close. Still have to manually use corrections.

You will need a 7165 and some hardware

Re: TunerPro 5 newbie - VE learn?
considering how much work it is to convert a BIN from two very similar masks, i imagine it would be so much worse trying to import calibration settings into what i imagine is a wildly different mask compared to the stuff the US 1227165 ran.
Re: TunerPro 5 newbie - VE learn?
They have a few bins for v8 and v6 so there is a good starting point. Since the timing and fuel go up to 9600 rpm we don't have anything that goes that high except I think the 707 for the quad 4. It also does 1,2 or 3 bar map.
Re: TunerPro 5 newbie - VE learn?
Its not so hard. Theres only really a couple of things you need to do.
Pick the V6 or V8 tune.
Check your injector rate vs the origianal, scale the default value by the % of the difference.
Adjust the reference angle to suit your trigger (usually 10 degrees for a distributor).
Copy your speedo PPK value in.
Copy your VE table (if you have one) and spark tables.
Perhaps look at the fan on/off temps.
If you have tables that are a different res load them up in excel, cut n paste them around to leave blank lines where you dont have a row, then create equations to average the cells around. Eg if the data on the left and right is populated for column B and you data starts at row 2, use =(A2+C2)/2 and copy that equation down the row. Do similar for all the missing values and theres your new table.
There is also now an adx in the 12p thread which references the VE table in tunerpro, and will show new VE values. So you can log, then just move the new data staight in to the VE table. Unfortunately that last copy step isnt automatic, but if your wideband is reading accurate then it saves a lot of work.
