NEED HELP TUNING INFO!!!

hey guys i purchased a 1990 trans am for cheap few months ago...im an avid drag racer and im a lil exp tuning my race car sbc with big stuff 3 efi, but this burning chip thing im not familiar with im sure i can figure it out but some guidance would be great. the previous owner of the car had a small idea of what he had but all he did was pay a shop to build it and tune it a bit.here is the car 1990 gta with 383 eagle rotating assembly 10.5-1 comp, hsr intake, tfs twisted wedge g2 heads, 30lbs injectors(not a 100% sure),cam unknwon at the moment(trying to get some info, 58mm tb, stainless works 1 3/4 long tube headers with 4'' muflex exhaust, nos tb system with 150hp, msd 6al, msd multi stage retard, msd distribuitor,700r4 with reverse manual and 3200 stall, mooser 12 bolt with 3.73 gears, looks like stock ecm with burned chip(previous owner gave me a third chip but didnt remember what it was for).
car runed 11.70 on motor and 10.49 on juice video was shown to me by owner and slips.

car has qa1 adjustable coils all around but all stock suspension components, the previous owner gave me bmr torque arm and frame conectors, and founders perf lca and panhard not installed yet.
my question is what hardwhare do i need to aquire to possible better tune my stuff, as it looks like i have to burn chips. what should i look for when doing so, so i can better opimaze the combo.

btw i had to get it it was only 6500....
motor seems very healthy 210 comp test pretty much in all cylenders and the worst cylender has 5% leak down....previous owner had at the track 2 times and i know there is more left in it.

thanks guys

Hey Nossbc

This site should help with all the hardware you need to get started...

http://www.moates.net/

It's been awhile, I THINK you can get everything...

I have to relearn everything too, I have the flash chips (EEPROMS), the burner, Tuner pro, and a cable to datalog.

Hope that helps a bit?

Re: NEED HELP TUNING INFO!!!

I'm all for tuning chips and Moates is the way to go. But that car has Dynamic EBL written all over it! Wouldn't even consider chips...

There are three options for install. Coming from a DIY background we offer a self install. Which is what the beginning of the above link shows.

The other two options are for us to do that work on your ECM. Or to purchase a complete ready-to-go EBL P4 ECM. There is a link near the top of that page that shows how to install the comm cable pigtail and what options are available for a knock filter (ESC module).

This is required for all three options.

Other then the comm cable pigtail and knock filter, the EBL P4 ECM is plug & play with the '90 - '92 f-body TPI set ups. Unplug the stock ECM, plug in the EBL P4 ECM.

RBob.

Re: NEED HELP TUNING INFO!!!

for a additional 1227730 ecm that's quite reasonable almost not worth sending in a ecm.
