Help a new guy to PROM burning
Help a new guy to PROM burning
I have a 400 sbc and I'm going to use my factory TPI on it. I still need to get everything for tuning, but I was wondering how I should set everything on the PROM for my engine combo. Compression is gonna be 9.0-9.5 (gotta still check the compression with my heads), and my cam is going to be a .442 lift or larger, prob closer to .500 lift. Can anyone give me a ball park figure for my setup on the PROM chip (timing, power enrich%, any other tables that i dont know of)?
Thanks for any input!

You really need to do some research and readings. There are many ways to go for tuning your set up. As for what to change, that is difficult to say. To start off need to change the displacement parameter, and hopefully the injector flow rate.
Then work on the VE tables to get the fueling squared away. Then move to SA, and TCC lockup, and fans, and so on.

Agreed with everything Rbob says. You first need to begin reading the ton's of material posted on this site with regards to tuning. Start with the stickies section.
If you are going to burn your own setup, you'll need to start your education with all the equipment necessary to do that.
For a good start, begin with the tuning guide: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...tunning-2.html
