Tuner Pro sees aldl cable when in passthrough mode but not in apu1 mode

Why is that? I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why i couldn't get turnerpro rt to recognize the cable in aup1 mode so i could plug it in to the car and supposedly tune and datalog in real time, couldn't get it to work! but as soon as i flip it back to passthrough, tunerpro finally sees it.

This was with the laptop connected via usb to the autoprom unit, the autoprom unit plugged in into the ecm via the wide cable, the black aldl cable plugged into the autoprom but not into the obd1 port, and no prom on the zif of the autoprom.

I have a 1991 camaro z28 converted to T56 from auto, 7730 ecm, and a new autoprom kit from moates. Spent most of the day cutting my teeth on TP RT, researching files and setting up to where i thought i was ready but then got stuck with the cable not being recognized.

I was able to upload the bin/xdf/adx file to emulator, passed the emulator check, started emulation, but then couldn't connect.

This is where i started checking the cable in the "Data Acquisition Plug-In Configuration" (tools->preference->data acq./emulation->configure plug in component). I had port type set to "standard/serial", and the previous tab had interface type set to "use plug in" and the data acq.i/o component set to "tunerpro data acquisition i/o interface".

For my files, i pulled the modified bin from the 27SF256 chip from the car that was set nearly 10 years ago (only remember it was set slightly rich) and used that with the Super_8dmc2.ecu as the xdf (imported from .ecu file) and set the adx file to 8D_90-91_Corvette.adx.

Anything (or everything) stand out as wrong here to you DIY vets?

Re: Tuner Pro sees aldl cable when in passthrough mode but not in apu1 mode

think i found the problem being an adx file that wasn't sized to 67 (tunerpro->acquisition->edit definition->command->transmit data reply=66 no good). When converting ads to adx this can get buggered from 67 to 66, and also it seems that section of the adx file can differ depending on which ads/adx file you are using

oh, also set the interface type to autoprom/maftpro (tools->preferences->data acq/emulation->interface type)
