Re: aldl cable and tuner pro
You will need an ADS (TP RT V4), or ADX (V5) in order to datalog/see datastream values.

Re: aldl cable and tuner pro
i'm sorry whats an ADS? I'm using tuner pro 4.14.. I'm thinking thats a version of tuner pro that will work that I have. It has data logging in it. I have hooked the aldl cable up to the aldl in the car and to the laptop and looked fo the aldl cable in tuner pro with the cars key forward but car off and it says hardware not found in tuner pro when i goto "tools" it says ALDL not connected?????? does the car have to be running and not just key forward to see the addl cable or am I doing something else wrong?

Re: aldl cable and tuner pro
The ADS is a file that deciphers the ALDL datastream, to show the proper values on the datalogging "dashboard".
You will be able to see values with the key just forward when the proper ADS is used.

tunerpro.net under downloads, or moates.net under file manager. I'm sure there are other places but those two usually have the most common ones.
Doing a search on here about TP RT and datalogging can reveal a lot of information on proper set-up, as well as on tunerpro.net, in the forums there.

Re: aldl cable and tuner pro
ok so I think I'm pretty close to being able to data log. I have the correct ADS file for the ALDL cable. Ithe ADS file is now showing up in the data logging section of Tuner Pro. When I try to connect with the key foward and the car off to the ECU it says connection failed. Does the car have to be running?*******on the bottom of the tuner pro screen, just to the left of the red writing that says ALDL: NOT CONNECTED it says NOT READY is it not seeing the port the aldl cable is connected too?******

Have you set up the correct port in the ALDL/Emulation preferences?
Honestly, all of your datalogging questions/troubles have been answered frequently and a quick search will reveall all the answers you are looking for, and more.

yes, im in com port 3 and it sees it in tools>preferences>test for valid cable using settings>cable found and functional...
so i guessing the car has to be running ,not just have the key forward to have the ALDL connect?

Re: aldl cable and tuner pro
here a good one for u to figure out. I go into Tuner Pro> tool>Preferences>test for valid cable using settings...and i get Cable found and functional, but I dont even have the cable connected to the laptop?!
Then I goto ALDL TEST i got from the Moates site DataMaster ALDL Adaptor test.....I run that test I get Test Passed, but I still dont have the ALDL cable connected to the laptop?

Is this the cable you have? http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...roducts_id=127
Are you still running the stock computer? If so, you need to move the switch to the "10k" position. Then turn the key foward, and your datalogger should start seeing some data (TPS volts..etc). When it does, start the car. After the car is running, I turn the switch off from the 10k and the ecm will still keep spitting out data in Datamaster. With Tunerpro, I had to keep the 10k switch on at all times.
Personally I didn't like TunerPro for Datalogging. I'm a big fan of datamaster:
