Transtronics Emulator???????????
HAs anyone ever had luck with it yet?.....Can find no real recent posts on the subjects ither than when people were having problems using it on our cars...As of yet i have had no luck reaching transtronics themsleves, would love to do real time changes and testing on the fly but dont want to lose my @$$ if it doesnt work great for our apps or is inconsistent

I bought an emulator from tech tools (http://www.tech-tools.com/er3.htm) & they were VERY helpfull, with it.

You make a very good point about emulators. They will never be able to program the PROM or Static RAM while the ECM is trying access it. Or if it is attempted, it is unreliable at best. I have used a few emulators on other projects and have found that out from experience. Like you said....the reset line has to be active.
