WinALDL won't work, No error messages

I can't seem to get WINALDL to work on my laptop. it's a Dell PIII 650MHZ, WIN98. The IR port is disabled as far as i know, THere is nothing in the Device manager about anything IR. The COM1 port is the Serial port.

I can install the instocx with no problems. I double click WINALDL and it acts like it's thinking about opening it (I see the hour glass) for about 2 secs then nothing happens after that.

I've searched the DIY board and the TBI board and I've tried everything I came across. I have IE installed. I'm about out of options. Anyone got any ideas?

-Lars

BTW:
Would it matter if it's a Dell or it has Novell Networking crap on it?

You probably had an older version of the ocx file installed on the system already.

Verify the the size of file in the system directory is the same as the one in the zip file.

If they are different you can rename the existing one and run the installation again.
