custom chip help
just finished a 305 to 350 swap and had a custom chip burned by fast chips because i stayed with the T-5 tranny and 350 didn't come with manual option in 92. replaced injectors with 24lb accels and now the car won't run because of massive amounts of fuel being dumped into the chambers. i'm talking tons of fuel here. fouled out 2 sets of plugs and 2 O2 sensors. turned down the FP as low as it would go without the screw falling out and still no luck. have plenty of spark. shocked myself with every plug wire to make sure. this is a stock 350 crate with mild mods and mild port work. any programmers have experience with accel injectors? are the 24lb's to big? he should be able to make the adjustments for larger injectors though. hence the word custom. is the fuel map off? need some info since he seems to be baffled when i told him what was going on. don't want to send the chip back if i don't need to. also the old 305 chip plugs into the new one. is the prom info the same for both 305 and 350's? any help is appreciated. thanks
Check with Ed Wright to ensure he burned with the injector flow rate constant dialed up to 24 lb/hr, sounds like not.
And no, 305 and 350 software are not interchangeable. In your case 305 code would make things worse, as that software is configured for 19 lb/hr injectors and would have the effect of overfueling even more.

If you had the eprom burning equipment we probably could have helped you, but without the bin and feedback (like scan tool) the only person that can really help you is Ed Wright.
If you have SD (I'm assuming that also since you don't really tell us), there can be a variety of reasons why you MIGHT be getting too much fuel. A cold coolant temp (t-stat or CTS); possibly a relocated MAT (SD cars need to be recalibrated for that or they tend to run too rich); or incorrect injector size (many guys find they have to play with that and it's usually a starting point for tuning the fuel) are just some of the possible reasons.
But without some "feedback" from a scan tool and lack of information of what is on the "bin", we really can't help you too much.
Pity, you probably spent more on the custom eprom than purchasing the equipment.
Good luck.
