Ok I got the harness out of a camaro with a manual tranny and mine is automatic... I found the schematic for the ecm and the wire i have to use and the other two i have are the VSS and the colors are yellow and purple, infront of the VSS is a vehicel speed sensor buffer.... what is that?

 

Some on has to know, this is the last hold up. Anyone??

 

Where is your VSS located? I converted my 89 TPI car from maf to speed density and had to install a custom speed sensor in the trans. the original VSS on 89 V8 models is in the speedometer itself. it is a hall effect pick up and the buffer splits the sinal to the ecm and cruse controll or other devices. I believe V6 cars had an electric spedo with the VSS in the trans as early as 87. if your VSS is in the trans it is a 4000 puls per mile AC signal. If it is in the spedo it is a 2000 pulse per mile DC signal. check out www.jagsthatrun.com and they have all kinds of VSS for engine swaps. if you need more help let me know what ECM and VSS you have.
