How much HP are you running with stock dual elec. fans?

Today while cruising through the junkyard I found a dual electric fan setup out of an IROC. I wanted to know how much HP you've been able to cool with the stock dual fans. I have a 383 and it makes roughly 400 HP. I have A/C (not working right now though) and live in Southern California. Just wanted to know if it'll be enough. I do plan on getting a Griffen radiator in a few days too.

And on a side note, I didn't see a shroud. They didn't come with one did they? Any advantage to making a shroud or do the fans sit close enough to the radiator to not make a difference?

Thanks,

i have the stock dual electric fan setup on my 1991 formula, they did not really have a shroud, so when there running u can look under the hook and see them spinning. They keep my stock motor cool, i guess since u have alot more power than me u might make more heat, do u have a high flow water pump? and u probably need a nice new aluminum radiotor to keep heat down and u probably need a low thermostat like a 180 and get a fan swithc from like hypertech that turns the fans off and on earlier then the stock switch does. Thats all i can think of to keep heat down. O yeah make sure u have all the factory air dams intact that ****** the air from under the car up into the rad and cooling equipment.

That reminds me, I do have a high flow Milodon water pump and a 160* thermostat right now.

the dual fans work pretty good. GM built one as the cooling fan, and one as an extra cooling fan that comes on w/ the A/C. I left the A/C one alone, but put the regular cooling fan on a 160 turn on, w/ a 160 thermostat. I occassionally had problems cooling when I had my 383, but only when idling around on 90+ degree days. To fix this, I put a fan under the car, in front of the rad, pushing air up. I don't think a camaro would need this, because of the open nose, but my it really helped my closed nose bird.

i have the duel fan set up and it use to be the single and when i changed over to duel i made it were both fans run off the fan switch so they both turn on at the same time, i dont have really anything extream by any means but its 330 hp out of a 350 and have not had any what so ever cooling problems and it sits around 175 deg and when i push it hard for extended amount of time it only raises a few deg and i have a stock rad too. i have though got a different switch & t stat
