Timing Adv wire Blk Brn is KILLING ME

3.5 months now trying to fix the car. It will start with brn/blk timing advance wire disconnected, mechanically advance timing *20 and runs ok...not great. Reset timing *6 plug brn/blk wire in and she just pulsates in idle and pops when attempting to give her gas. I've changed the ECM, ESC, PROM, MAF power burn off module, corrected loose wires, resoldered other wires...bottom line .... I think she advances way too much with brn / blk wire plugged in I'd kiss anyones *** that could provide the right solution.

28 views and no responses...hmmm. FYI: It was the distributor itself

I'd replace the computer with a junk yard one. They are cheap (like $15.00) and lots of other cars are compatible with ours like the Astro van. Search the boards for numbers. Just to eliminate the computer as the culprit.

how are you basing your timing, from the harmonic ?? could it be the balancer has spun a little and is giving you false reading ?? something to check !!!!
