I have had my license restricted for a while now so I have been driving during the day but when i went to go drive my car the other night my head lamps would not come on. I messed around with the brights switch but no luck it is busted. If i really mess around with the bright switch i can get the brights to come on but as for the regular head lamps, the switch wont do it. i need to know what to do. should i put in a floor dimmer or get a new switch. I have a 92 rs and i really dont want to have to remove the steering colomn or take off the air bag so if you know whats up hit me back. thanks

 

i have a 92 RS, as my username would suggest, and i had a problem with my headlights in which i couldn't turn the brights on. i'd pull on the little switch on the steering column and it was to no avail, the bright would stay on only if i held it in position. all i had to do was tilt the steering column up high, becuase i drive with it all the way down it doesn't stay in its locked position of whatever. one night i was driving and the brights were on and i was fooling around with the switch and the ilghts flashed on and off really fast and a cop saw it- i told him what the problem was and he eventually let me go but not without first giving me a ticket for my exhaust try tilting the steering column up, maybe it'll help
