There is a fuse in the fuse panel under the dash. I think it says "Fog Lamps" or something like that.

i dont see one that is labled fog lights. and none of my fuses are broken. the light that turns on when you turn on the head light works so that makes me think that the switch is good. please help someone.

Take your multi-meter or a test light and check for power at the back of the switch to be sure it's working properly. If all is fine there, then you'll need to trace the wires from the switch to the lamps looking for obviously bad sections (chafing). If your can pierce the insulation with your test tool, check several places along the wire to determine if it's broken somewhere. If all else fails, you may find it easier to just run new wires. I had similar problems with another '84 that I had before a drunk driver t-boned me. Hope this helps.

If your fog light switch has a green "fog light on indicator" light in it & it lights when the light switch & fog light switch are on, then the problem is in the wire between the fog light switch & the fog lights, or the fog light ground connection to the chassis. If the green light does not come on with the light switch & fog light switches on, then the problem may be the fog light relay, or the 20 ampere FOG LPS fuse, in the fuse panel (if you have that fuse). If you don't have the FOG LPS fuse in the fuse panel, one of the fusible links at the starter (the one that also powers the head / tail lights & the ACCY fuse) or the fusible link at the fog light relay may be open. The fog light relay may be under the hood, on the driver side fender, or under the dash, on the driver's side. You should be able to hear it click on & off when you turn the head lights on & off - the high beams must be turned off, and the high beam bulbs must be good for the fog light relay to energize, as well.
