New fog lights same old switch

I just installed a new pair of fog lights. I want to leave my stock pair connected, but hook up the new ones so they come on with the headlights like the old ones do. I ran the power for the new ones inside. Where do I conect it so the new ones will come on independantly of the old ones, but only with the headlights (or parking lights as I think the stock pair does).

I think this is a pretty easy question, but I don't have a multimeter or any info on the stock wiring.

Thanks for your help,
Dan

if it's a big deal to connect it as described above, any info on how to connect it to the little warning buzzer would be helpful.

thanks,
Dan

You will need a Bosch 30 ampere relay and a fuse holder. Radio Shack & many auto parts stores sell 30 ampere Bosch relays, and Pep Boys sells a 30 ampere in line fuse holder with a cap on it. Use a 20 ampere fuse in the fuse holder. Mount the relay under the hood near the battery. Connect one end of the fuse to a wire going to the battery + terminal. The one going to the alternator is a good choice. Connect the other end of the fuse to terminal 30 (contact pole) on the relay. Connect terminal 87 (N.O. [normally open] contact) on the relay to the new fog light power wires. Now, for the control of the relay...If you want the new fog lights to be controlled by the existing factory fog light switch, then connect terminal 85 (coil) of the relay to chassis ground, and connect terminal 86 (coil) of the relay to one of the purple power wires going to the factory fog lights. If you want the new fog lights to be controlled by a separate switch, and function like the factory fog lights (on with parking or head lights if fog light switch is on & off when high beams are on), then connect the relay coil as follows. Connect terminal 85 (coil) of the relay to the light green wire going to one of the high beam bulbs. Connect terminal 86 (coil) of the relay to the wire that you ran into the passenger compartment. Connect the other end of that wire to one side of the new fog light switch. Connect the other side of the new fog light switch to the brown parking lights wire. The brown parking lights wire may be spliced into at the head light switch, or the fog light relay. The fog lights relay is under the dash. The fog light relay may be located by listening for the clicking sound it makes when the lights are turned on & off. If you do not want the new fog lights to turn off when the high beams are turned on, connect terminal 85 (coil) of the relay to chassis ground instead of the light green high beam wire.
